Residents enjoy access to the state-of-the-art UBC Aquatic Centre that can host nearly 1,000 bathers - a certified LEED Gold building that harvests approximately 2.7 million litres of rainwater annually. The UBC Tennis Centre is a top facility with programming and instruction. Within easy walking distance, there’s also 2 hours of free parking while your shop. The Wesbrook Village near Hawthorn Place features over 25 shops and services. Espresso houses, doctors offices or a trip to the bank - no need to leave the UBC community. Favourite haunts for Hawthorners include Togo Sushi, Doughgirls Comfort Kitchen & Bakeshop and the Neptune Chinese Kitchen 鳳鳴粥麵.

Take transit

Vehicle access to Hawthorn Place neighbourhood is very straightforward via 41st, 16th or 10th Avenue to the Point Grey Campus. More than 80,000 trips by BC Transit happen to-and-from the campus every day. 15 bus routes link UBC to Skytrain, the Canada Line and to Metro Vancouver major municipalities. And now planning is underway for extending rapid transit train service to UBC from Arbutus Station on the Broadway Line.
